WIN THIS BAG

LizComment
Many thanks to The City Sage for the very nice write-up on my bags! You can leave a comment on her blog for a chance to win the pictured cosmetic bag, painted and sewn by your truly. Her blog is a cool mix of home decor, food, fashion...all the things I like. Thanks a lot, Anne!
I just got back from the Rosebowl market and an LA weekend spent running all over the garment district and trying not to drive wrong-way down one-way streets downtown. I think I sunburned my eyeballs a little bit at the market (seriously) and I'm BEAT, but had a great time overall. I'll share some of my spoils when I can look at the computer screen for more than a minute without my eyes watering profusely.

I've put a few more things in my store. There's mainly small zipper pouches (as below) in there right now, but I will be adding leather things soon, a few more pillows, and some larger canvas totes. I'll be taking a little break from color to make way for good ol' B&W, so please check back soon...

PILLOWS

LizComment
Thanks to everyone who has asked about my store. I'm a big lagger, but I'm about to open shop. To start, I will have pillows, cosmetic bags, and little pouches. I make everything myself, so each item in the shop will be one-of-a-kind.
Thanks to all of you leather enthusiasts, too. I WILL be adding some leathergoods soon, so keep checking back. I always love to hear comments from people, so if you have any questions or would like something specific, please email me.

LITTLE ZIPPER POUCHES

I think I'm channeling old Vision Streetwear styles these days. I swear I do things besides florescent 80's stuff...I guess it's really a fad I'm going through. Just can't get enough of that crazy color. Here are some little painted canvas bags.
Florescent Purple/BlackFlorescent Pink/BlackFlorescent Yellow/BlackLeather stopper at end of zipperBags and piping are painted by hand. Measures 7 1/2" x 5". Heavy duty zipper. Fully lined.I'm very close to having my online store up, which is very exciting. I hate HTML!!!

SINGLE PIECE SHIRT

LizComment
Made this shirt today. It's cut from a single piece of fabric, having only side seams. Nice and easy. There is no front or back - you can wear it either way.
You can also wear it inside out, which I quite like - that way you only see a little pattern at the edges. This is a really lightweight cotton gauze. I've mostly been painting on canvas and heavy materials, so this was my experiment as to how the paints will do on lighter weight fabrics. Held up pretty damn well, so more of these to come!

CAMERA BAG

LizComment
I made a bag for my camera out of some of my leftover scraps. I have 2 of the same camera. The one in the bag here is broken because i smashed it when it was being fussy - sorry about that, camera. It was beyond repair anyways:
I've finished 3 big painted totes but am waiting for my hot model friends to let me photograph them together. Cool bags look even better on cool girls.

WEEKEND WORK

LizComment
Here's what I'm getting into this weekend:
This is where all the magic happens. Lots of cursing, self-inflicted burns, temper tantrums, and bloody fingers. See what I have to go through to make these things for you?
These guys will be done by Monday...***On a side note, I went to Barney's and Neiman Marcus today. Ikat of all sorts is in abundance and pretty much everything is neon, so you may want to get one of these bags if you know what's good for you.

PAINTED LADDER BAGS, JAN 2009

Surprise...more cosmetic bags. I swear it's not the only thing I make. They are really just different paint samples that I make into something useful...like a bag! I like to figure out which paint combos and patterns work before i do something big.
BLACK/FLORESCENT YELLOW
BROWN/FLORESCENT PINK
BLACK/FLORESCENT RED
I like this Ladder pattern...i think I'll do more, but something else besides little bags. These guys have leather pulls, but you can still wash them. I'm brainstorming a lot of cool leather things right now...

PAINTED BRUSHSTROKE BAGS, JAN 2009

Made some more little dudes over the weekend. The big ones always take longer than I think to finish. Little ones are more fun...instant gratification.
FLORESCENT YELLOW/BLACKFLORESCENT BLUE/BLACKFLORESCENT PINK/BLACK
I really gotta get a new camera at some point. Apologies for the ghetto styling and shoddy lighting. It ain't gonna change anytime soon.

EXTREME BOOTS, JAN 2009

Liz5 Comments
Got some plain canvas boots a while back in New York from United Nude, thinking that I would paint them someday.
Well, that day came this weekend. They just looked so bored, all square and white. You can hate on them if you want to. I do. But I also kind of love them. I don't know how I became obsessed with wearing such obnoxious things. It's just so much more fun. I haven't worn them out yet, but I can already feel the stares. Watch out world here comes neon, again.
